Newsletter 11-20-11

We have been preparing to share some great things with you during conferences! I am so excited to have the chance to BRAG about your exceptional child! We have been reflecting on our strengths and weakness and setting goals to work towards throughout the year.
We have a short week ahead, but it will be a great one! I know that the kids are ready for a well-deserved break (as well as the teacherJ,) so I have some fun activities planned for the week ahead:

Writing:
We will be finishing up the piece of writing that they will share with you during conferences.

Math:
On Monday we will complete a study guide. The division math test is on Tuesday.

Science:
We will finish up our weather packet. When we come back, we will be moving on to our next unit, The Classification of Animals.

Vocabulary:
We will not be taking the test over unit 7 next week. We will be taking the test the week when we come back from Thanksgiving break (on Friday).

FYI:
1.      Please make sure you send back your child’s conference sheet that I sent home on Friday. I really need that before we meet. (Sorry about the typo on the list #1)
2.      Please send back your child’s study trip form. We will be going to Harvesters for a volunteer opportunity on November 30th. More information to come later.
3.      Noon dismissal on Tuesday.
4.      The book fair is on Tuesday. See the newsletter for details.

Table Talk Question:
1.      What are you finding to be most interesting about your early explorer?
2.      Challenge your child to use 5 vocabulary words throughout your Thanksgiving dinner conversation!

I really look forward to seeing you for our conference!

-Ms. Alley
