We have had a busy week! It was Red Ribbon Week and we had our annual Penny Carnival!
We have a short but JAM-PACKED week coming up! So much to do in so little time!
The Week Ahead:
Religion:
We will start chapter 5, Great is the Lord, Our God.
Writing/English:
The kids finished their mysterious stories. This week we will continue to work on English skills with our Daily Language Review activities.

Math:
We will be finishing up the last two lessons of chapter 3 and completing 2 study guides. The math test will be next Monday. The LAST day the kids will have to make any corrections on their math will be NEXT Tuesday. Please help me by asking your children to make corrections in their SMJ and SL.
Social Studies:
We will work on chapter 3 in our social studies text, The Early Explorers, and we will be starting the kids’ first research paper over an early explorer. Get excited! J
The kids will write their research paper during class. The kids will have adequate time to complete every part of this project at school. The students will choose an early explorer, review the project requirements and rubric, and start reading their research. Once your child has picked their early explorer for their research paper, please help them find a book over their explorer. They are required to use at least one book for their project. The sooner you check out a book from the Mid-Continent Library, the better. With children researching the same explorers in the other class, books go fast!
Science:
We will finish up our science literature circles over weather. Next, the kids will learn about the different type of clouds and try to identify them in the sky.

Just find the promotional code printed on your receipt of purchase and visit www.hy-veesmartpoints.com. From there, select St. James.
Table Talk Question:
- What do you think the life of an early explorer was like?
- What early explorer have you found most fascinating and why?
- Describe the types of clouds you have learned about. Go outside with your child and have them identify the clouds in the sky.
Have an AMAZING and SAFE HALLOWEEN with your family!
